We are proud of the high ratio of adults to children in our pre-school. This ensures individual attention to the needs and development of each child. At each session there will be at least one qualified Playleader supported by an Assistant Playleader with staffing organised to ensure continuity of care throughout the day.

Our playleaders are highly motivated to provide an excellent quality early years education whilst encouraging the children to build friendships and have fun. Our Keyworker system means that one member of the pre-school staff in particular will be responsible for your child’s happiness and progress in pre-school. They arrange a parent meeting formally once a term and are always happy to discuss anything of interest, progress or concern at any time. Whilst all our playleaders are dedicated to the well-being of all our children, the Keyworker Scheme makes sure each child has individual and particular attention.

The Big Oak Pre-School is governed by an elected parent committee ensuring that major decision making is in the hands of the parents who use the pre-school.
